GHV girls pick up win over B-K; Fall to rival West Hancock

Things are looking up for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls, as they picked up a win last week to move their record in the right direction, 3-9, 4-11.

A never-give-up attitude helped the GHV girls pick up a one-point road win on Friday, Jan. 22, at Belmond-Klemme (2-10, 3-12).

Mary Ellen  Charest, 85, Clear Lake, died Mon., January 25, 2016, at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.  A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Fri., Jan. 29 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.  Family will greet friends one hour before the service.

CL grapplers beat perennial powerhouse Denver-Tripoli

The Clear Lake wrestling team took the long ride to Denver, Iowa Tuesday night, Jan. 12, for a triangular and came home happy campers.  Clear Lake took on perennial power Denver -Tripoli in the first meet and came away with a 35-28 win. In the second meet, they edged Charles City, 39-38.
