On Thursday, Jan. 14, the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura wrestling team competed in a quadrangular at Osage.  The Cardinals were 1-2 at the quadrangular.  GHV topped Northwood-Kensett, 42-36, but fell to North Butler, 42-35 and to Osage, 54-27.

“The scores of the duals don’t reflect the kid’s efforts,” said Coach Cory Jenniges.  “We had a couple of open weights and that has been hurting us all year.”

Emergency vehicle donated

The members of the Clear Lake Fire Department were excited and surprised this past week when they learned of a donation to the department’s inventory of emergency vehicles by friends of the department, Mark and Diane Holt.  The Holts donated a 2016 Polaris Ranger Crew 900 to the department. This all terrain vehicle is equipped with a four person enclosed and heated cab, a rubberized track drive system, emergency and high intensity scene lighting. The ATV is capable of carrying a crew of four firefighters and a 1,000 pound payload.
