GHV Cardinals split four games in action last week

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura baseball team moved its record to 5-17 with two wins and two losses in action last week. The team opens Class 2A District 3 Tournament play on Saturday, July 13, when they travel to Forest City.  Game time is 7 p.m.

GHV girls to begin post-season play against Clear Lake

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls wrapped up their  regular season with a  9-20 record.  Post season play begins tonight (Wednesday, July 10) for the Cardinals when they face Clear Lake in the opening round of the Class 3A Region 4 Tournament.  The game is at Clear Lake and begins at 7:30 p.m.

Jack Larson, 91, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa – Hospice, in Mason City.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Stephen Benitz, of St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating.  Jack’s family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
