First major portion of high school renovation expected to open Monday

(Above left) The newly renovated cafeteria and commons area at Clear Lake High School is expected to open for use on Monday, Nov. 7.  The renovation project included bridging the former courtyard area between the previous cafeteria and main entrance.  The white column near the center of the new cafeteria is concealing the standpipes which used to be in the outdoor courtyard.  The pipes remain operational.-Reporter photo.

The Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department held its annual Halloween parade Saturday, Oct. 29.  More than 100 youngsters participated in the parade on Main Avenue to City Park, where they received goodie bags.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

Woman accused of felony theft from Clear Lake auto dealer

Clear Lake police have charged a Mason City woman with First Degree Theft, a Class C, Felony and Forgery, a Class D Felony, in the wake of a seven month investigation into her actions while employed at Lake Chevrolet.

Amy Monahan, 42, was arrested and taken to Cerro Gordo County Jail Friday, Oct. 28, on the theft and forgery charges, as well as Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony.
