(Above) Friend in need, 1966 - Friends of the Lewis Bacons picked and cribbed 64 acres of corn in 1966.  Tom Nelson Jr., of the Standard Tank Wagon Service, furnished fuel for the tractors.  Friends included Pete Cash, Wes Robbins, Norman Ballantyne, Everett Hollatz, Harris Dewall, Harold Currier, Dale Moorehead, Eugene Jass, Duane Bitker, Pat and Gregg Marshall, Tom Treloar, Walter Bill Cash, Bob Cash, Morris Clark, Summner Trumble, Larry Bacon, Hank and Hollis Bokelman,

Christie Ann Grattidge, 61, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.

Kenneth L. Moeller, age 68, a resident of Naperville, Ill., since 1969, and formerly of Clear Lake, passed on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at his home.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life was held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Naperville, with the Rev. Al Creighton officiating.  Interment was in Naperville Cemetery.

He was born May 30, 1948 in Mason City, Iowa.

John Parkin Fieseler, 88, a resident of Melbourne, Fla., passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2016.

John was born in Iowa and raised in California and Iowa.  He graduated from Fort Dodge Iowa High School and from the University of Iowa with a Masters degree in labor and management.  He worked for Bell operating companies for nearly 40 years.
