Osprey restoration continues along shores of Clear Lake

Tina Ann Norem, 47, of Garner, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her home.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Pastor Scott Sokol officiating.  Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Tina Norem Memorial Fund.

Kurt Kruggel, Burchinal, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at home after a brief and heroic battle with cancer.

A celebration of Kurt’s life was held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at his home, 12031 210th Street, Burchinal.  The memorial included ceremonies specific to the Dakotah and Lakotah traditions. Inurnment will be a private ceremony at a later date.

Gail Jean (Riggs) Meyer, 64, 4053 240th St., Clear Lake, passed away July 7, 2016, at Hospice of North Iowa.

In lieu of funeral services, a free will concert, “Celebration in Sound!” will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m., at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. N., in Clear Lake.  The concert is being organized by Mary Jane Crail.

Coffee, cookies and ice cream will be served following the concert.
