School Board election is Tuesday

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Sept. 8, for Regular School Board elections.  Three candidates are running unopposed for three seats on the Clear Lake School Board, while four persons are seeking two seats available on the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Board.  This will be the first election since the consolidation of the G-H and Ventura School Districts.

The Clear Lake Student Council is working to make Homecoming more than a school event this year.  New activities, as well as the revival of a few old ones, are included in this year’s Homecoming Week, Sept. 8-12.

Helen Lee Bergmann, 97, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Hall officiating.  Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Helen Bergmann Memorial Fund.
