Clear Lake cross country team competes at Dick Bell Invitational

With better weather conditions than in past years, the Clear Lake Lions once again set many personal bests at the Dick Bell Cross Country Invitational hosted by Eagle Grove Tuesday, Oct. 6.  In fact, three-quarters of the Lions set personal bests on a very fast evening.

Clear Lake battled yet another rated power last week, as the Lions hosted number nine (3A) Humboldt for Parents Night/Senior Night and Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The Lions made the North Central Conference leading Wildcats (24-3, 6-0) work for a 3-0 victory.  Game scores were 25-10, 25-18, 25-12.

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys cross country team captured a team championship at the Eagle Grove Meet held on Tuesday, Oct. 6.  The boys had three runners finish in the top 10 and ended the meet with 48 points.  Gilbert was second with 58 points and Clear Lake was third.  The girls team finished in ninth place.
