The Clear Lake girls captured the North Central Conference Tournament title Monday, May 9, at Spring Valley Golf Course in Algona.  The Lions shot 352 to easily outdistance runner-up Humboldt, which came in with 391.

The Lions had five of the eight medalists in the tournament.

The season came to an end for the Clear Lake boys golf team last week.  The Lions were eliminated from the post-season at a Class 3A Sectional Tournament played at Veterans Memorial in Clear Lake Wednesday, May 11.

Boys track team qualifies 11 events for State Track Meet

A season to top all seasons continues for the Clear Lake High School boys track team.  For the first time since 1989, the team won the State Qualifying Meet (formerly called Districts), held on Thursday, May 12, in Osage.  The team scored 141 points to claim the honor, winning by more than 40 points.  Waukon was second in the 11-field meet with 98.5 points.

Gerhardt and Loge to compete in doubles at State Tennis Tournament

The Clear Lake doubles team of Jaxson Gerhardt and Ben Loge have qualified for the state tournament.  The two finished second in the District meet played Monday, May 9, in Decorah.

The Lion pair lost to Ramker/Becker from Waverly Shell-Rock in the finals.  

The Lions also finished second in the District team race.  They tied with W-SR, but the team title went to the fourth tie-breaker to decide who got second place.
