For the first time since 2016, the Briar Cliff women’s basketball team will take the floor in the 2022 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship Opening Round.  The Chargers earned an at-large bid and are the number three seed in the Wichita, Kan. opening round bracket. They will face the number two seed Mid-America Christian in the first round on March 11 at 2 p.m at the Garvey Center.

CL 50, WSR 46

Clear Lake came from behind to defeat Waverly-Shell Rock, 50-46, in the Sub-State semi-final played Thursday, Feb. 24, in Clear Lake.

Despite their best efforts, the Clear Lake Lions lost in Sub-State Final action to Decorah, 46-39  The reults of Monday night’s game and more pictures will appear in next week’s edition of the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter. Clear Lake’s Jaden Ainley and Emily Theiss have been named as unanimous All-North Central Conference First Team players.  The senior standouts led the Lions to a perfect 14-0 record in the conference.  The team ranked first in offense with an average of 59 points per game. They were also tops in defense, holding their opponents to an average of 27 points, giving them an average margin of victory of 32 points.
