Junior High and High School sporting events (baseball, softball, football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and track) in North Central Iowa are in dire need of sports officials right now and in the future, starting with the 2022 baseball and softball seasons. This includes junior high, freshman and junior varsity/varsity events in Clear Lake.

Clear Lake (11-0) remained undefeated in the North Central Conference with an exciting overtime win over Hampton-Dumont-CAL Friday night.  The victory capped a big week which included a close game with Class 4A power Waverly-Shell Rock and NCC rival Clarion-Goldfield.

The Clear Lake boys couldn’t knock off North Central Conference leader Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, but they did get past Hampton-Dumont in what Coach Jeremey Ainley called the Lions’ most mentally tough game all year.  Clear Lake is now 10-4 overall and 6-4 in the league.

Witke’s 1970 - Dick and Chet Garth were owners of Witke’s Restaurant since November of 1970.  They continued the long standing tradition of fine food in a superb atmosphere.  Other features of Witke’s include a recently installed char broiler on which steaks were done to perfection.  Witke’s Restaurant was one of the oldest and best known dining places and was at the  location on North Shore since 1933.<
