A team from the the Ventura Fire Department, using a new boat equipped with advanced technology, was able to locate the body of an Iowa State University student a day after a school crew club boat capsized during practice on a lake.

COVID-19 activity spiking as state races to vaccinate

Iowa is still on track to expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all Iowans by April 5 due to an anticipated increase in vaccine supply.

“We expect to see an increase in Iowa of about 25,000 doses compared to what we’ve received the last two weeks, for a total of more than 128,000 doses of vaccine,” said Governor Kim Reynolds during her weekly press conference on Wednesday, March 24.

Carol Berge, of Clear Lake, was the winner in the Mirror-Reporter’s Hidden Easter Egg challenge.  Carol spied the hidden egg on page 9 in last week’s paper and called in her answer.  Her name was randomly chosen from hundreds who called to win the beautiful basket filled with an Easter bunny, books, holiday decor and seasonal candy donated by Ralphene’s Card & Gifts, of Clear Lake. - Reporter photo.
