David James Bowers, 79, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, March 13, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Clear Lake Church of Christ, 2010 14th Ave N., Clear Lake, with Pastors Dan Miller and Dennis Ganz officiating. Burial will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. N., Clear Lake.

Geraldine Lou Hove, 89, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Lake Mills Care Center, in Lake Mills.

A private funeral service will be Friday, March 19, 2021, at Trinity Church, 10681 500th St, Thompson, Iowa, with Rev. Will Hunsaker officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Church Cemetery.

Geraldine was born March 19, 1931, the daughter of Floyd H. and Doris B. (Meyers) Olson, in Swea City, Iowa. She married Merrill J. Hove on Oct. 21, 1950, in Kiester, Minn.

For the second time in three years, the Clear Lake boys basketball team earned a trip to the State Tournament.  The Lions defeated North Central Conference rival Humboldt, 64-48, Tuesday night, March 2, in the Sub-State final played in Algona.
