Sue E. Lollar, 67, of Clear Lake, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer of 2021.

Everett L. Hulberg

 Everett Larry Hulberg, 71, of Clear Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at his home.

Per Everett’s wishes, his body has been cremated and no services will be scheduled at this time.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Remember When 1-6-2021

(Above) Pony sledding in 1970 - These boys had the right idea in 1970 for the safest way to travel after 17” of snow fell on Clear Lake.  No gas, no anti-freeze and no snow tires were needed.  Mark Evenrud is in the saddle, with Jamie Moffett on the bottom of the sled and Rex McChesney on top.  About the only fuel required for “Star” was a bale of hay.  He probably earned every bite.

The Clear Lake Lions knocked off sixth ranked (3A) Waverly-Shell Rock Monday night in a wild start to the second half of the season.  The Lions clung to a one-point lead down the stretch, then Eric Ritter’s layup and free throw secured a four point, 46-42, victory.
