Iowa receives first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine

The continued reduction of COVID-19 activity, combined with the delivery of the first wave of vaccinations, is raising Christmas spirits across the state.

Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Wednesday, Dec. 16 that the state had received and distributed the first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine and that approximately 500 frontline healthcare workers had already been vaccinated.

Moderna vaccine delivered to MercyOne North Iowa

  “It’s a great day at MercyOne,” stated Rod Schlader, president, MercyOne North Iowa on Monday. “We received our first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. We plan to start vaccinating our colleagues, who are at highest risk this week.”

  MercyOne will provide vaccine updates on its social media channels and through news outlets.

Clear Lake McKesson not part of COVID vaccination distribution

The McKesson Corp. is proud to be the coorindator of Moderna’s vaccine distribution, however McKesson’s Clear Lake facility is not part of that supply chain.

Sunny Rodriguez, senior manager, McKesson Corporate Public Relations, stated the Clear Lake facility continues to operate as a standard distrubtion center and is not part of the vaccine or supply kit distribution chain.
