Billy Roy Howard, 86, of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020, at his home in Clear Lake.

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and a charity will be established at a later date.

Due to the increased concerns of Coronavirus spreading at a community level, the family of Gary Wickering has decided to postpone his Celebration of Live that was to be held at the Albion Library, on April 4, 2020, inn Albion, Iowa.

No future date has been decided.

Daniel D. Anderson, Jr., 63, of Swaledale, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2020, at Unity Point, in Des Moines, where he lost a courageous battle with his kidneys.  

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. S., Clear Lake, with Rev. John Gossman officiating. Inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Charles Harold “Friz” Frisbie, Jr., 94, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Oakwood Care Center, in Clear Lake.

Per Friz’s wishes, his body has been cremated and there will be no public service.

Charles was born Oct. 23, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Charles Harold Sr. and Dorothy (Oelz) Frisbie.

John  and Whitney Mixdorf, the owners of South Shore Donut Co., located at 1205 South Shore Drive, have placed Community Blessing Boxes outside their business. “If you are able to, please donate what you can.  If you are a Laker in need, we invite you to take what you need from the boxes. No questions asked,” explained Whitney. “Things might be a little crazy right now but remember, we are all in this together.
