Bishop Heelan of Sioux City used a late charge to defeat the Clear Lake Lions, 61-57, in the Class 3A State semifinal played Thursday, March 5.

Untimely turnovers and stretches of cold shooting doomed the Clear Lake Lions in their SubState battle with Ballard Wednesday night.  The Bombers (18-6) advanced to State with a 65-56 victory.

Four Clear Lake girls earn NCC All-Conference recognition; Faber earns All-State honor

Four members of the North Central Conference champion Clear Lake girls basketball team have been named to the All-Conference Teams selected by member coaches.  In addition, on Tuesday senior Sara Faber was announced as a First Team Class 3A All-State choice by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA).

Lake voters pass $18M school bond

Voters in the Clear Lake School District continued their tradition of strong support for school issues Tuesday by overwhelmingly passing an $18 million bond issue.  The funds will be used to fund a wellness center, to be built in partnership with the City of Clear Lake, as well as various school security measures and improvements to school buildings and the Lions Field complex.
