Eenhuis earns post-season honor

Garner-Hayfield-Ventura had one girl named to a Top of Iowa West All-Conference Team.  Erica Eenhuis, a sophomore, earned Honorable Mention recognition.  Eenhuis was an outside hitter and left back passer.

“Erica was an all-around player for us this year,” said Coach Kelsey Edwards.  “She improved upon her ball control and by the end of the season was adjusting her hitting and cutting the ball to avoid the block.”

Veterans Day services to be held Friday, Nov. 9

The public is invited to attend Veterans Day ceremonies at Clear Lake High School Friday, Nov. 9.  Gather at the Clear Lake Middle School flag pole (directly south of the Middle School entrance at 1601 3rd Ave. N.) beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Veterans’ Day program will commence with the raising of Old Glory, followed by Taps, and will then proceed into E.B. Stillman Auditorium where Clear Lake High School students will honor veterans.

Council reviews Water Utility Extension Feasibility Report

At the Monday night City Council meeting the Water Utility Extension Feasibility Report for the unincorporated area of South Shore Drive was reviewed.

Administrator Scott Flory summarized, “There is a long way to go and we are just getting started, but we know it is feasible and that’s significant.”

The area considered consists of about 35 single-family residential dwellings in the Clear Lake State Park to 265th St. area that are now served by individual private well systems.
