Heinemann and Frayne claim Class 1A State Co-ed Golf title

It was a quite the day for Garner-Hayfield-Ventura seniors Bailee Frayne and Matthew Heinemann, as they wrapped up their high school careers by claiming the Class 1A State Co-ed Golf Tournament title on Tuesday, June 5, played in Marshalltown.

It was a quite the day for Garner-Hayfield-Ventura seniors Bailee Frayne and Matthew Heinemann, as they wrapped up their high school careers by claiming the Class 1A State Co-ed Golf Tournament title on Tuesday, June 5, played in Marshalltown.

Coach Seth Thompson is still waiting for his team to put it all together, but so far the journey has been entertaining.

Break-through week for CL girls

The Clear Lake girls had a break-through week, picking up three victories in six outings, including one over the second rated team in Class 1A.  The Lionsare now 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the North Central Conference.

If the Cardinals could have started the Monday night game against Osage as they finished it, the outcome would have been a whole different story.
