The Clear Lake Historical Society has received the go-ahead— and $3,500, for construction of an information kiosk at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

GHV Board considers repurposing building

(Above) Ventura school leaders are considering moving fifth and sixth graders from its Intermediate School into the Junior High building located across the street in Ventura, creating a grades 5-8 Middle School.  The Intermediate building would be used in other ways by the school district.

Boys tennis team tops Bulldogs, 8-1

The Clear Lake boys tennis team finally got their season underway on Thursday, April 12, at Hampton.  The Lions posted an 8-1 win against the Bulldogs.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Fullerton Funeral Home, Mason City, with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jeannine Elaine Easton, 88, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Good Shepherd Health Center.

Phillip Bombella, 78, formerly of Mason City, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 Third Street NE, Mason City, with Father Kenneth Gehling officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City.
