Jim Sulentic, a developer from Waterloo, Iowa, has been coming to Clear Lake since he was a kid, so when a rare opportunity presented itself to buy The South Shore Inn and The Landing restaurant, he was ready to take advantage of the opening.

Boys soccer team finally gets season underway

Finally!  It’s been a busy week for the Clear Lake boys soccer team.

Tuesday, April 17, the Lions traveled to Waverly and confirmed there is green grass to play on.

“After being stuck inside a gymnasium for the past few weeks it was nice to get a game in,” said Coach Matt Anderson.

Smith to compete in Drake Relays

Reece Smith, a long distance runner for Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, will be running in the Drake Relays on Thursday night, April 26, at 5:25 p.m.  Smith qualified in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:46.35.

Smith qualified for the Drake Relays on April 5, at Southeast Polk.  At that time, Smith’s  time made him the leader in Class 2A and put him at seventh in the state overall.
