Police ask for help in hit and run investigation

The Clear Lake Police Department is asking for the public’s help with a hit and run crash that occurred in Clear Lake on Sunday morning, Feb. 11.

Around 1:10 a.m., Clear Lake officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the 200 block of South 3rd Street. A red 2009 Ford Explorer struck a tree and the driver left the scene before speaking with officers.  An additional silver car was seen leaving the area as one officer arrived.

  Garner-Hayfield-Ventura gave the fifth rated Clear Lake girls all they could handle for nearly three quarters, but the inevitable run by the Lions helped them earn a 64-38 victory in the Class 3A Region 2 opening round Saturday, Feb. 10.

The final score was not indicative of the close play throughout much of the contest.

The Clear Lake Lions extended their win streak to 10 and won Thursday night in a nail biter over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 48-47.  Since the Christmas break the Lions (16-4) have won 11 of 12 outings and are playing with confidence with the post-season on the horizon.
