Randy Scott Durnin, 42, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at One Vision, formerly Opportunity Village, 1200 N. 9th St. W., Clear Lake, with Pastor Scott Sokol officiating.

An open house for friends, family and neighbors was held at their home on Sunday, July 30, 2017.  A private memorial service for family is planned in the future.

The Clear Lake Lions baseball team landed three players on the 2017 All-North Central Conference First Team, while four others earned recognition in the all-conference balloting.

The up and coming Clear Lake softball team is represented by four players on the All-North Central Conference Teams announced last week.

Freshman infielder Julia Merfeld has been honored as a First Team All-North Central Conference selection.   Another freshman, outfielder Sara Faber, and infielder Chloe Mueller, a junior, were named to the All-NCC Second Team, while sophomore Macy Mixdorf, was a pick for the Third Team.
