CL boys tennis open with back-to-back meets

Two days - two very different results.

The Clear Lake boys tennis team started the season with back-to-back meetings April 6 and 7.  On Thursday the Lions hosted Iowa Falls-Alden and won, 9-0.  The following day they were at Mason City and fell by the same score.

CL boys track off to a good start

The young Clear Lake boys track team got off to a good start this past week at the Umstead Relays in Eagle Grove and the Cowboy Relays in Clarion.  At Eagle Grove, the Lions placed fifth out of eight teams and at Clarion they got third out of the six teams in their class.

“We will keep working on lineup changes and tweaks and we really feel kids are stepping up and performing.  We want to just keep getting better as we progress through the schedule,” said Coach A.J. Feuerbach.

CL boys track off to a good start

The young Clear Lake boys track team got off to a good start this past week at the Umstead Relays in Eagle Grove and the Cowboy Relays in Clarion.  At Eagle Grove, the Lions placed fifth out of eight teams and at Clarion they got third out of the six teams in their class.

CL boys golf team places second at “Dutch Masters”

The Clear Lake boys participated in an Iowa version of the famed Masters Golf Tournament on Friday, April 7.  The Lions played at Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella at the “Dutch Masters.”

Clear Lake’s Thomas Storbeck nearly came away wearing the coveted Green Jacket.  Storbeck, a senior, lost a three-hole playoff to Oskaloosa’s Spencer Tucker.  Both players carded 73s in regulation.

The Clear Lake girls track team got the season off and running with their own Early Bird Relays Tuesday, April 4.

Macy Mixdorf provided the Lions with some points in the sprint events.  She was fourth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 28.73 and seventh in the 100 in 13.97.
