Clear Lake volleyball game goes 0-5 on the week

It was a tough week for the Clear Lake volleyball team, falling to Iowa Falls-Alden and going 0-5 at a tournament held on Saturday.  The losses moved the Lion’s record to 7-19.

Regional volleyball pairings announced

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has announced the 2019 Regional Volleyball pairings.  Clear Lake will face Crestwood in the opening round of Class 3A-Region 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 23.  The game will be played at Crestwood High School at 7 p.m. Crestwood has a record of 14-12.

Also in the Class 3A-Region 5 pairings is New Hampton vs. Waukon, Mount Vernon vs. Oelwein and Jesup vs. North Fayette.

Hot race at Algona for Clear Lake cross country team

It’s hard to believe the Clear Lake cross country team has been running in very hot and humid conditions in October.  The weather may have affected some of the runner’s times, but there were highlights at the Algona meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Boys

The boys faced some tough competition, but managed to place fifth as a team.
