Hot race at Algona for Clear Lake cross country team

It’s hard to believe the Clear Lake cross country team has been running in very hot and humid conditions in October.  The weather may have affected some of the runner’s times, but there were highlights at the Algona meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The boys faced some tough competition, but managed to place fifth as a team.

The Clear Lake volleyball team fell to Forest City, 3-0, on Thursday, Oct. 3.  Scores were 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

The loss dropped the Lions to 7-13 overall.

The annual Harvest Festival went on as scheduled Saturday, despite the lack of fall weather Saturday.   Crowds braved a rainy, windy day to enjoy fall-themed contests, shopping, music and more.

Clear Lake offers letter of support for Mason City to host RAGBRAI riders

Clear Lake city leaders formally offered their support for the City of Mason City’s application to be an overnight host community for RAGBRAI 2020.

At Monday’s City Council meeting, a Letter of Support, was unanimously approved by the Council encouraging the Des Moines Register to choose Mason City as an overnight stop on its 2020 bicycle route across the state.
