Volleyball team takes third at season-opening C-G tourney

The Clear Lake volleyball team got off the season off to a good start, posting a 4-2 record at a tournament held in Clarion Saturday.  The Lions placed third in the tourney with wins over Harris-Lake Park, South Hamilton, Belmond-Klemme and Eagle Grove. They dropped matches against host C-G-D and North Butler.

Ebeling seeks second term as Ward 1 Council rep

Clear Lake First Ward Councilman Mark Ebeling has announced he will be seeking a second term in the Nov. 5 General Election.

“It has been an honor to serve my fellow residents in Clear Lake,” Ebeling said.  “As a member of the Council the last three and a half years I have been fortunate to be a part of a great team of fellow council members, city officials and community members on many improvements and exciting projects. I want to build on our success and continue to move Clear Lake in a positive direction.”

Clear Lake Community Schools and the City of Clear Lake will be holding community listening posts to gather input about a possible health/wellness center in Clear Lake. The listening posts are open to anyone living in Clear Lake.

Last month local leaders announced they believe the time is right to work together to create a community asset which will provide residents with recreational activities year-round.
