At-Large Clear Lake City Councilman Mike Callanan has announced he will seek a fourth term in the Nov. 5 General Election.

Callanan, a Clear Lake native who was also an educator in his hometown for more than 30 years, has served on the City Council for the past 12 years.

Friday night, Aug. 23, the Clear Lake Lions hosted Humboldt for a pre-season scrimmage.  The practice time allowed both teams to work out the bugs as they head into regular season.  Pictured is Jack Barragy wrapping up a Wildcat player.  The Lions host Osage this Friday night to open the 2019 season.  -Reporter photo by Chris Barragy

Norma Jean Kofoed, 92, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice. in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Al Berge officiating.  Inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Eldora Ardis (Lau) Holstad, 97, formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Aug. 23, 2019, at Brookestone Meadows, Elkhorn, Neb., surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Al Berge officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
