Robert D. Christiansen

Robert Dean Christiansen, 75, of Clear Lake, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, surrounded by his family at home, after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 26, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor Art Zewert, MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Chaplain, officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868 Honor Guard.  Burial will be at Ell Township Cemetery, in Klemme.

Wesley “Wes” Dewey Edgar, 87, died peacefully at home in Phoenix, Az., on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 surrounded by family.

A memorial service for Wesley “Wes” Edgar, a summer resident of Clear Lake, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.  A reception will follow.

John Verne Eason, 93, of Ankeny, and formerly of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at Sunnyview Care Center, in Ankeny.

Having chosen cremation, a private graveside inurnment will be scheduled later for family and friends at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield.

The Clear Lake School District and City are considering construction of a community health and wellness center.

Although no firm plans have been developed, school and city leaders say they believe the time is right to work together to create a community asset which will provide residents with recreational activities year-round.
