Suspect jailed following weekend burglary, assault

A Clear Lake man has been charged with burglary.

Aaron Pankratz, 27, was charged with second-degree burglary after allegedly forcing his way into a home in the 600 block of South 8th Street in Clear Lake on Saturday morning, May 11.  He is accused of assaulting two of the residents as they came out of a second-floor bedroom.

Jennifer Cash, of Clear Lake, met her lord and savior on May 8, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of North Iowa.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 11, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, to continue to grow Jennifer’s love of agriculture, the family suggests memorials be directed in care of the family to be used for the Clear Lake Schools Ag Leadership Program, that she was passionate in helping establish.

Glen W. Dietrich, 99, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Linda Johnson-Prestholt officiating.  Burial was at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Glen W. Dietrich, 99, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Linda Johnson-Prestholt officiating.  Burial was at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Peggy Jane Trafford, 87, of Davenport, Iowa, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 5, 2019, at Ridgecrest Village, in Davenport, surrounded by her loving family.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Center for Active Seniors, in Davenport.

Helen Harms

Helen Grace Harms, 93, of Clear Lake, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Oakwood Care Center, in Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Hall officiating.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.
