Helen Harms

Helen Grace Harms, 93, of Clear Lake, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Oakwood Care Center, in Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Hall officiating.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.

Lions post a shut-out against the Cardinals

Clear Lake shut out the GHV boys soccer team Monday, May 6, by a 2-0 score.

“We came out ready to play from the first whistle with great energy and intensity. We were able to possess the ball well and the team was communicating well,” said Clear Lake Coach Zach Hall.

The Clear Lake doubles team of Mac Adams and Aaron Blum is headed for the State Tennis Meet.  The duo won the District title playing Friday, May 10, at Spencer.  They now advance to the state tournament May 23-24.

Clear Lake boys win 3A Sectional golf title

Clear Lake captured the Class 3A Sectional golf title at Charles City Friday, May 10.  With a score of 326,  the Lions were nine strokes better than runner-up West Delaware, which finished with a 335.  Waverly-Shell Rock was third with 345.
