Clear Lake boys win 3A Sectional golf title

Clear Lake captured the Class 3A Sectional golf title at Charles City Friday, May 10.  With a score of 326,  the Lions were nine strokes better than runner-up West Delaware, which finished with a 335.  Waverly-Shell Rock was third with 345.

Clear Lake traveled to Garner Monday, May 6, to play under the lights.  The Lions skimmed by the host Cardinals, 2-1.

Clear Lake finished in second place on Friday afternoon, May 10, at the Forest City Invitational played at Bear Creek.  The Lions shot a team score of 373.  New Hampton was the clear winner with a 339 in the nine-team field which also included  Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Forest City, Charles City, Crestwood, Algona  and Mason City.

CL girls track team wraps up season

The Clear Lake girls track team finished up their season at the District Meet Friday in Charles City.  The Lions did not qualify any events for State, but ended the season with some of their best performances.

Deborah won the District with 152 points, followed by Iowa Falls-Alden with 138.5o.  The Lions were eighth in the field with 28 points.
