The members of the Clear Lake Fire Department were excited and surprised this past week when they learned of a donation to the department’s inventory of emergency vehicles by friends of the department, Mark and Diane Holt.  The Holts donated a 2016 Polaris Ranger Crew 900 to the department. This all terrain vehicle is equipped with a four person enclosed and heated cab, a rubberized track drive system, emergency and high intensity scene lighting. The ATV is capable of carrying a crew of four firefighters and a 1,000 pound payload.

It’s almost here— Iowa Caucus night.  Caucus sites have been announced by each party.  The Caucuses start at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1.

Republican:

•Clear Lake High School, 125 North 20th Street, Clear Lake: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Clear Lake-Grant-Union, Lake-Lincoln

The Clear Lake Board of Education has selected McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development to assist them in the important task of selecting superintendent candidates for the board to interview.
