CL, MC School Boards likely to vote on sharing

The Clear Lake School Board is expected to vote Wednesday, Dec. 16, about its willingness to continue in sharing agreements with the Mason City School District.

Monday night the boards conducted their annual informal meeting and discussed pros and cons of sharing a superintendent, IT and food service directors.

State funding for sharing incentives has diminished in the years since the sharing agreements were started and in recent years members of each board have questioned the value of sharing.

Jay Kevin Lindsay was born in Mason City, Iowa on March 21, 1956, to Gerald and Kathryn (Buffington) Lindsay, and he passed away Dec. 10, 2015, at Hospice of North Iowa after a long struggle with liver disease. He was 59 years old.

Jay Kevin Lindsay, 59, passed away Thurs., Dec. 10, 2015 at Hospice of North Iowa.  Services are at 11 a.m. Tues., Dec., 15 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Cecil E. Bottjen

Cecil E. Bottjen, 87, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

Per Cecil’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service was held on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Sioux City, Iowa, with Pastor Russell Senstad officiating.   

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa or Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Sioux City.

Bottjen, 87, Clear Lake, passed away Thurs., Dec. 10, 2015 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.  Per Cecil's wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be 11 a.m. Mon., Dec. 14 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City.  Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. Mon. prior to the service.
