Central Gardens hires part-time executive director

Central Gardens of North Iowa, Inc. has named a part-time executive director. Jody Hamilton, Clear Lake, began her duties on Dec. 1.

“We are excited to have someone of Jody’s experience, expertise, and dedication to help us meet the demands of our growing Gardens,” said Robert “Chip” Kinsey, board president.

Former Opportunity Village employee charged with criminal conduct

A North Iowa woman is accused of stealing from residents at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake.

Amy Lynn Palmer, 42, of Garner, is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and 15 counts of dependent elder abuse.

Sharon Kay Shinn, 73, of Mason City, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, in Clear Lake, with Pastor Dennis Ganz officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sharon Kay Shinn, 73, of Mason City, passed away on Sun., Nov. 29, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in Mason City.  A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 2 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
