It was a tough way to start the season, when the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls basketball team traveled to Mason City on Tuesday, Nov. 17, to face the Mohawks in the Hall of Pride Scrimmage. Mason City dominated the Cardinals in a 61-13 romp.

Barbara Duitscher, 91, of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, in Mason City.

Per her wishes she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jill M. Deuel, 62, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit-Hospice of North Iowa, in Mason City.

Arrangements are pending with Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Dianne Rogene Bailey, 81, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Mark Doebel officiating.  Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Dianne Bailey Memorial Fund.
