Struggles continue for Clear Lake softball team

The Clear Lake girls softball team slid to 0-18 with five losses last week.  The Lions fell to GHV (see separate article below) and Forest City in non-conference action.  They were topped by Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Webster City in North Central Conference action.

Class 3A Region 2 post season to begin July 8

Clear Lake and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura softball teams will begin Class 3A Region 2 post-season play Wednesday, July 8.

The Lions (0-18) will travel to Cresco to take on Crestwood (19-3) in a 7 p.m. game.  The winner will advance to play either Osage (14-6) or New Hampton (10-18) Friday night, July 10, at Cresco.

Cardinals drop three games

Cleta Haugen

Cleta Mae Haugen, 80, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Good Shepherd Health Center, in Mason City, Iowa.

Per Cleta’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Cleta Haugen Memorial Fund.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
