1972 Snowmobile rally - In 1972, ideal weather conditions resulted in the best snowmobile rally ever held in Clear Lake.  Hundreds of persons watched and participated in the rally held on the lake.  About 80 individual entries were registered with many of the drivers entering several classes.  Dean Kemmerer, chairman of the North Iowa Snowmobile Club, reported that the rally was also financially successful.

Clarence “Gene” E. Wagler, 81 of Clear Lake passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at MercyOne in Des Moines.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Estelle Elsa Treloar

Estelle Elsa (Schneider) Treloar passed away Jan. 5, 2022, at the age of 102.

Estelle was born March 28, 1919, in Mason City, Iowa, the second of four children, to Carl and Wilhelmina (Buehler) Schneider.  In 1937, she graduated from Mason City High School.  On April 14,1940, she was united in marriage to Norris “Jim” Treloar, in Nora Springs, Iowa. Four children were welcomed into this marriage.

Estelle Elsa (Schneider) Treloar passed away Jan. 5, 2022, at the age of 102.

Estelle was born March 28, 1919, in Mason City, Iowa, the second of four children, to Carl and Wilhelmina (Buehler) Schneider.  In 1937, she graduated from Mason City High School.  On April 14,1940, she was united in marriage to Norris “Jim” Treloar, in Nora Springs, Iowa. Cheryl Ann (Schaer) Glenn passed away peacefully on Jan. 12, 2022 at the age of 76, at Longmont United Hospital in Colorado.  

She was born in Mason City, Iowa to Lawrence A. Schaer and Gwendolyn G. (Harriott) Schaer on Aug. 23, 1945.  Cheryl attended Mason City Schools and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1963.  Cheryl attended Mason City Junior College.  She married and later divorced, and was blessed by a daughter, Heather (Glenn) Bahr.

Kimball, 93, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA with Rev. Melinda McCluskey of Galilean Lutheran Church officiating.Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Larry Lee Schroeder, 83, of Clear Lake, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, IA. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Ward-Van-Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the service.
