Larry Lee Schroeder, 83, of Clear Lake, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, IA. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Ward-Van-Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the service.

Friday’s snow event was all that meteorologists warned.  An estimated 10-inches of snow fell on Clear Lake starting early Friday morning and picking up speed throughout the day.  The addition of gusty winds by mid-afternoon forced businesses to close early, as most hunkered down.

Humboldt benefited from consistent shooting on their home court to remain undefeated with a 10-point victory over Clear Lake Tuesday, Jan. 11.  The Wildcats (9-0) were 77-67 winners.

The Lions are headed to the North Central Conference meet Saturday with momentum.  The Lions split dual meet wins with a pair of conference teams last week and gave their all at a Saturday tournament at Osage featuring some of the best teams in the state.
