(Above) Three sets of helping hands - Fall was definitely in the air in 1996 when the Monson triplets, of Clear Lake, thought they should be getting ready for it.  The toddlers, Luke, Emily and Meg, helped their parents, Greg and Paula, assemble scarecrows at their home.

Terry Lloyd Duregger, 79, passed away on Sept. 14, 2021.

Terry was born in Mason City, Iowa on Nov. 23, 1942. Terry grew up in Clear Lake, where, as a teen, he attended Buddy Holly’s final concert at the Surf Ballroom. He was living in Waterloo when he met his wife, Sandy, and they married in 1968. Terry was drafted during Vietnam and was stationed in Honolulu, HI where he served as a member of the Honor Guard responsible for burials at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

Mary Vickers, 91, passed Sept. 15, 2021, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Scenic Chapel, 1334 N. Scenic Drive, in Alamogordo, with Pastor Garland Peek officiating.

The Vickers family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel, Alamogordo, to direct the services.

Emily Jo Majerczyk, 20, of Clear Lake passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City, surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Sept. 23, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Josh Link, celebrant. She was laid to rest in Clear Lake Cemetery.

In Emily’s honor, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, https://www.cff.org/give-monthly/
