(Above) Lily gatherers, 1885 - According to the July 11, 1885 Clear Lake Record, Lily gathering was a popular outing as seen from this photo.  According to the Clear Lake Record, “Water lilies are now ‘ripe’ and excursion to the lily beds at the head of the lake are a daily occurrence.

Russel James Borchardt, Clear Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

  Russel was born on Feb. 20, 1932, on a farm in Union Township, Worth County, Iowa to Albert William and Alma Ulrike Emma Glassel Borchardt.  Russel attended Rock Falls Consolidated Schools, graduating in May 1950.

Rodney Allen Fuller, 61, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, April 25, 2020, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, at 1506 Main Ave., Clear Lake.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, at 1506 Main Ave., Clear Lake.

James Henry Vierkant, 73, of Thornton, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at the MercyOne Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, at the Clear Lake VFW in honor of Jim.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.

Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, of Mason City, was in charge of arrangements.

Andrew Nicholas and Greg Nicholas Jr. plowed this message into the field next to the Mason City airport last week to welcome home family members Greg and Julie Nicholas and Bill and MaryLou Nicholas, who flew in after spending the winter in Florida.
