Russell C. Lorenzen

Russell Clayton Lorenzen, 90, of Clear Lake/Ventura, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021. 

A remembrance visitation for Russell will be held on Saturday, June 19, from 2-5 p.m., at the Reinbeck Memorial Building, Reinbeck, Iowa. Please join our family in a celebration of Russell’s life.

North Central Conference play got into full swing last week for the Clear Lake softball team.  The Lions dropped games with Webster City and Humboldt, giving them a 2-3 record overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Girls soccer team ends season against GHV

The Clear Lake girls closed their season against the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals May 26.  

“We came up short on a game we controlled,” said Coach Greg Jennings.  “It was a tough loss. For my seniors it was the last time they laced up their cleats.  We had lots of opportunities but failed to capitalize on them.”

Leader chosen for new Wellness Center

Adam Long, of Liberty, Mo., has been named executive director of Clear Lake’s new Wellness Center.

The wellness center’s five-member governing board selected Long as the facility’s first executive director in late May after an extensive search and interview process, and he was introduced to the Clear Lake City Council Monday evening during its meeting.
