New life for former Sunset School

Even though Santa isn’t sitting down with visitors in his Clear Lake house, there’s still a way for kids to get their Christmas wishes to the Jolly Old Elf.  Thanks to many helpers, Santa now has a new mailbox at City Park and all letters will receive an answer.

The first doses of COVID-19 vaccine may reach Iowa as early as next week.

Governor Kim Reynolds gave an update on the status of vaccine distribution on Thursday, Dec. 3, detailing when the first doses are tentatively scheduled to arrive, how many the state will be receiving, and who will get them.

Robert Stough, a computer science teacher for the Clear Lake School District, has been named by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds as a member of a new Computer Science Work Group.  The group was formed in response to a 2020 state law that for the first time requires Iowa’s 327 school districts and 116 accredited nonpublic schools to offer computer science instruction.

Fifth ranked Clear Lake started the season off with a bang Tuesday night.  The Lions up-ended Charles City, 76-18 in a non-conference opener for both schools.

The Lions held the Comets to a mere four-points in the first half and every member of the team saw significant playing time in the romp.
