X-C teams compete in Humboldt Invite; boys place third

The Clear Lake girls and boys cross country teams traveled to the Humboldt Invitational Monday, Sept. 21.

The Lion boys came away a respectable third in the varsity race behind two good teams.  An unranked Gilbert team upset 11th ranked Humboldt to take the win in the field of 21 teams. The Gilbert boys posted a score of 90, with Humboldt following with 102. Clear Lake came in one place higher than fourth place St. Edmond Ft. Dodge, with 128 and 129 respectively.

Cross country 2020 postseason dates to be split

Dates previously set for the 2020 IHSAA and IGHSAU cross country postseason will be split at next month’s meets to accommodate competition and crowds with COVID-19 related precautions.

State qualifying meets and the state meet will now be separated by classification and take place over two days. The state meet will remain in Fort Dodge at Lakeside Golf Course, where it has been run as a co-ed event since 1993.

Free e-Edition 9-30-2020

In the age of digital media, we sometimes forget we are dependent on machines for our print editions. Due to a press machine mechanical problem we are unable to print the Sept. 30 edition of the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter in time for Wednesday delivery. We will still be printing this edition and delivering to subscribers as soon as possible. At this time we expect it to arrive in mailboxes Thursday. In light of this special circumstance, we are making the electronic edition of our publication available to ALL for FREE today.
