Keith R. Thompson, 83, of Forest City and formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Kanawha, Iowa.

Darwynn E. Ruppert

Darwynn E. Ruppert, 89, of Rock Hill, S.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a brief illness on June 16, 2020. Darwynn was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Al Berge officiating. Inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Humboldt ends the season for the Lions with 4-3 victory

For the second time this season, Humboldt edged Clear Lake Friday night by a score of 4-3.  This time the sting was especially painful, as it ended the season for the Lions.  They finished with a record of 9-8.

Sixth ranked Algona ended Clear Lake’s season in the Regional semi-finals played Friday in Algona.  The Lions wrapped up the COVID-19 abbreviated schedule with a record of 8-9.
