Big week of wins for the Lions

The Clear Lake baseball team had a good week, going 2-0 with wins over Algona and Forest City. The Lions improved to 8-4 going into Monday night’s big conference game with Humboldt.

“We have been great playing some small ball and Andrew Formanek pitched a gem against Algona,” said Head Coach AJ Feuerbach.  “We need to stay consistent going into our last two weeks before the tournament starts on July, 17.

Donald M. Williams

Donald M. Williams, 76, of Lake Havasu City, Az., passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020, at Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital, Phoenix, Az.

A memorial will be held in Lake Havasu City at a later date.

Don was born in Clarion, Iowa, the son of Merle and Dorothy (Rounds) Williams, of Thornton. Don relocated to Washington State in 1975. In 2010, he moved to Lake Havasu to enjoy some sunshine and soon retired from long-haul truck driving.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4299, where he enjoyed meeting up with friends.

Jan M. Buchanan

Jan Marie Buchanan, 64, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at MercyOne Hospice, Mason City.

According to her wishes her body has been cremated and a celebration will be held in the fall.

Jan was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Mason City, the daughter of Paul and Lois (Behl) Morris.  Jan graduated from Mason City High School.  In 1973 she was joined in marriage to Ed Buchanan.  They were blessed with two sons.
