Two wins and a loss for CL girls

The Clear Lake girls sandwiched two North Central Conference wins around a loss to top rated Crestwood last week.  With victories over Algona and Humboldt, the Lions (16-2, 11-0) have a tight hold on the NCC title with three conference games remaining.  This week they hosted Iowa Falls-Alden last night (Tuesday). They will be at Fort Dodge St. Ed’s Friday, Feb. 2, and home Tuesday, Feb. 6, against Webster City.

The Clear Lake boys pushed their win streak to seven and tightened their grip on the top spot in the North Central Conference with three wins last week.  The Lions are now 13-4 overall and 10-1 in the NCC with four games (three in the NCC) remaining on the regular schedule.

The Lions started the week hosting Iowa Falls-Alden (6-8, 3-7) Tuesday.  Friday they will be at Fort Dodge St. Edmond (10-7, 8-3).

The Cardinal girls basketball team had a big week, winning two and dropping one. The girls are now 9-11 overall and 7-8 in the Top of Iowa West Conference.

  Controlling the paint wasn’t enough, as the Cardinals fell victim to hot shooting and an abundance of turnovers on Tuesday, Jan. 23, when they faced Bishop Garrigan (10-4, 13-5).

A highly-anticipated showdown was held in the GHV gym on Tuesday, Jan. 23, when the Cardinals faced Bishop Garrigan (12-2, 15-2).  The Cardinals rolled to an easy 81-54 victory against the Golden Bears.
