GHV lands two on TIC All-Conference teams

Two girls from the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura basketball team were named to the 2017-18 Top of Iowa West Division All-Conference teams.  Senior Jillian Heitland was named to the Second Team, while freshman Jayden Frank earned Honorable Mention recognition.

Faber named to IPSWA first-ever All-State team

The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA) announced its first-ever girls basketball all-state team on Tuesday. The teams are selected by print sports writers in Iowa, and honor the top-24 high school girls basketball players in each class.

Clear Lake’s Sara Faber was included on the inaugural list.

March comes in like a Lion

Just when we thought Spring had arrived, high winds and snow on Monday and Tuesday reminded us that it is still very much winter.  On Monday, rain turned to sleet and then snow propelled by 40 mph gusts, made travel hazardous and forced law enforcement to put a tow ban in effect in the county.  Tuesday, Clear Lake and GHV schools were closed after four inches of snow fell and more high winds were forecast for the afternoon.-Reporter photo.
