If ever there was a win-win situation, it exists in the Industrial Arts Department at Clear Lake High School.

Thanks to Billion Ford of Clear Lake, CLHS instructor Mike Lester was able to attend a special “NC3 Train the Trainer” in North Carolina recently.  Following a week of intensive training, Lester has returned to CLHS with the ability to certify students in specific areas which will aid in accelerating their completion of college-level programs, as well as give them a leg-up in the job market.

Timothy Alan Entner, 57, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, Minn..

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Harvest Bible Church, 2200 N. 24th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor John Tank officiating.  Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.

Leslie Rae Golien, 81, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Inurnment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Leslie Golien Memorial Fund.

Dennis Welsh passed away peacefully at North Iowa Hospice on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in Mason City, Iowa, at the age of 58.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Clear Lake Christian Church, US-18 West, Clear Lake,  with Pastor Drew Rietjens officiating. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the church address.
