The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura football team was well represented on the Class 2A District 2 All-District team.  The Cardinals had six players named to the First Team and two players that earned Honorable Mention recognition.

A mid-November closing date has been set for Casey’s General Stores, Inc., to close on the Barrel Drive-In property located on Highway 18 West, in Clear Lake.  The property was listed at $398,000.   -Reporter photo by Chris Barragy

After months of speculation, Casey’s General Stores has confirmed it is in the process of closing on the purchase of the Barrel Drive-In property on Highway 18 West.

Construction began this summer on the East Main Ave. street reconstruction project and as of this week, the street has been opened for traffic.  The project was expected to be completed by Nov. 3, 2017, so the project was right on schedule.

Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 and Auxiliary is ready to kickoff a $100,000 capital campaign to fund a veterans memorial to be located in the courtyard of their Main Avenue Post, 219 Main Ave.  The kickoff, which will include an overview of the plan, an opportunity to view an illustration of the project and ask questions of committee members, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11.
